Water Rescue To The Rear
Of Station 10
June 28, 2006
Funkstown, Md.
- During the morning of June 28 emergency crews risked their
lives to rescue three individuals that decided to go canoeing on
the Antietam Creek after severe torrential downpours hammered
the area the day before. Washington County Dispatch sent
the assignment out for a water rescue around 9:55 a.m. after the
9-1-1 center was flooded with calls (including one from Chief
Bentley of Special Ops who was out surveying the area) reporting
a capsized canoe in the creek to the rear of Funkstown’s Fire
Hall.
